Director of Engagement, APAC
Kate Shieh is the Director for Asia Pacific at Toniic, where she works with impact minded asset owners seeking deeper alignment between their values and the way their capital moves in the world. She leads regional engagement and creates spaces for members to explore what systemic change can look like in Asia Pacific. Her work spans regional programming, community building and partnerships with foundations, public agencies, financial institutions and ecosystem organisations.
Kate brings over fifteen years of experience in public policy, strategic philanthropy and management consulting. Before Toniic, she served as Deputy CEO of Tri Sector Associates, a Singapore-based impact advisory firm strengthening cross sector partnerships and readiness for blended finance approaches in the region. Previously, she was Associate Director at PwC Hong Kong’s Government and Public Sector Practice, advising government entities and philanthropic funders on strategy, policy, funding and incentive schemes, and impact evaluation. She began her career in the Prime Minister’s Office in Singapore, supporting whole of government coordination on population policies and learning how systems refine through collaboration.
She holds a Master of Public Administration from the London School of Economics, a Master in Public Policy from the National University of Singapore and a certification in Sustainable Finance from the University of Cambridge. Outside of work, she finds grounding in nature, cultural exploration and the quiet joy of helping people stay engaged with the world we live in.
