T100 Focus Report 2019: the Frontier of SDG Investing

How Toniic members make an impact on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals

New from T100 comes a research briefing focused on how Toniic members make an impact on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Building on findings from the T100: Powered Ascent report, the briefing digs into the underlying data from 76 portfolios (totaling $2.8 billion in committed capital) to get a sense of where the most active impact investors see opportunities, the types of investments they’re making, and what they’re investing in.

Each of the SDGs is addressed in the aggregated portfolios within the study, but five of them account for more than 60% of the invested capital: SDG11 Sustainable Cities and Communities (29%), SDG7 Affordable and Clean Energy (17%), SDG3 Good Health and Well-Being (7%), SDG2 Zero Hunger (6%), SDG12 Responsible Consumption & Production (5%). The report takes a deep dive into these top five SDGs and provides examples of the investments advancing the SDGs across asset classes.
